Sunday funday at Magnuson Park

This weather this weekend was glorious and so we spent the weekend out and about. We spent Sunday morning checking out the playground at Warren G. Magnuson Park. This is our first visit to the playground and I definitely wished we were regulars when we lived a few streets away.

It is a huge playground with many different play structures for different skill levels, rope obstacle course, a few little rock climbing walls, swings with regular and bucket seats, a big sandbox with toys, a play house, a large seesaw that accommodates more than 2 kids and a covered shelter for parents to sit.

T1 enjoyed the ropes obstacle course very much and the different slides. He had plenty of fun climbing up and down the play structures imagining he was on a quest.

I do wish the covered shelter were closer to the play area because the playground is so large. It is hard to keep track of your child from afar and the play structures can block your view of your child. There are some seats around the periphery of the playground but there is no shade, so please bring sunscreen and hats for you and the little ones. The playground is also right next to the parking lot, so be careful if you have a breakaway child. I would have liked there to be more distance between the playground and the cars. No real bathroom facilities available near the playground, just Porta Potties. Hurray for wipes!

The playground is close to the off leash area for dogs so bring Rover along and the whole family gets to play. Afterwards, head to Kite Hill for a picnic, enjoy the view and fly a kite or two while you are there!
