Grilled Beef short ribs (Korean-style)

I have the same few go-to recipes every time I go groceries shopping. This recipe uses marinade, then pop marinated beef ribs into the oven so I don’t exactly spend too much active time in the kitchen.

Marinade:

  • soy sauce
  • sesame oil
  • sugar
  • mirin
  • honey
  • black pepper
  • minced onions
  • minced garlic

Main ingredient:

  • 2lbs beef short ribs (sliced)

Obtain a ziplock bag, put ribs in and pour all the marinade. Let it sit in the fridge for 4 hours or overnight -the  idea is to get the beef immersed long enough so the marinade gets deep in the meat and not just coating the surface of the ribs.

When you are ready too cook, switch on the broiler for a couple of minutes (whatever time it takes to get the oven to 500F).

Place aluminum foil on a baking sheet, spread the ribs across the foil (no layers please).

When the oven reaches 500F, put the baking sheet in. It takes me approximately 10minutes to get the meat alittle burnt on top.

Get the frying pan on high heat 2minutes before the meat is done in the oven. Move all the ribs from the baking sheet to the frying pan. Takes another 8mins.

Serve with sprinkle of sesame seeds.

Our dinner spread along with spinach fried eggs and kimchi! 🙂
